Requirements: Computer requirements: Your computer must operate in Windows 98 or later. Windows 98, 2000, ME, NT and XP are all acceptable. Your computer must have an available RS-232 serial port, unused and unshared by other hardware or software. The RaceManager program scans your computer and automatically finds a port IF ONE IS AVAILABLE. Some recent laptops have only a USB port, not an RS-232 port. We cannot use USB directly. BUT, we can convert USB to RS-232 and provide an optional converter for that purpose. You may also be able to acquire the converter locally. Operator requirements: The operator must be (human and) familiar with the general operation and conventions used in the Windows operating systems. That means you should be aware of nomenclature like Start/Run/Install, Space Bar, the difference between a right click and a left click of the mouse and you should know that the mouse is not a foot pedal! It also helps if you know that Tab is the standard way to go between fields. If that sentence does not make sense, ask any racer, they are young enough to know.
