Windows Installation Error - Autoexec.nt
Quick fix. Install the latest version of RaceManager. As of version 1.60 we no longer use the "Install Shield" installation package which is the source of the problem. Click here to download the most recent RaceManager patch. Then run the downloaded file and this problem will go away.
The following, while true, is obsolete information. See above.
Apparently Windows XP Service Pack 2 can erase or corrupt a system file called autoexec.nt which is needed, not by RaceManager, but by the InstallShield installation package that installs RaceManager on your computer.
You can type "autoexec.nt" into Google and find numerous reports and fixes listed. But the simple solution seems to be to download a good copy from us.
To get it,
SHIFT-CLICK on this link and save it into your C:\Windows\System32\ folder, overwriting the existing file. The Shift is required because it is a text file. Without the Shift you'll just see the file, not download it. If for some reason your browser does not respond to the Shift, then Right click on the link and choose 'save file as' or 'save link target as'.
