SuperTimer Error Messages
Obsolescent, applies to Rev 3.xx and 4.xx only
SuperTimer Error Messages
If you are using an older permanently donated computer, it is likely that it was given away because it occasionally gave problems. Please go to the DOS directory and run the files called defrag and scandisk. Then reload our software and start over. The SuperTimer error messages are of the form Run-time error xxx at yyyy:zzzz, where xxx is the error number and yyyy:zzzz is the place where the error occurred.
Common error numbers:
- 162 - Hardware Failure
- Usually this happens when another program is interfering with the SuperTimer. Be sure you use SuperOn and reboot the computer before trying to race. If you are operating with a Rev before 4.00 please get an upgrade.
RaceManager Error Messages
Error messages from the RaceManager can be of the same form as those from the SuperTimer, but they can also have the following form:ERROR xxx @@@@ File : ERROR.TXT or message not found ---> descriptive messageIn these messages, xxx is again the error number. The line beginning with @@@@ can essentially be ignored since all it says is that the file that will translate the error number to English is missing. The third line, with the descriptive message, usually points to the file that is causing the error.Common error numbers:
- 010 - File does not exist
- Usually this happens when the FILES= and BUFFERS= lines are not set high enough. Prior to Rev 4.00, fix this problem by editing the config.sys file and make FILES and BUFFERS both 30 or greater. For Rev 4.00 and later, run SuperOn before racing.
- 023 - Error opening file
- FILES and BUFFERS are the culprits here, too. See Error 010 for the remedy.
- 026 - Error writing file
- This error usually occurs when there is not enough free space on the hard drive. It is recommended that you have at least 1 MB (1 million bytes) of free hard drive space.
- 030 - Record out of range
- This is usually a result of other software conflicting with the RaceManager. See Error 162 in the SuperTimer section for instructions on fixing this problem.
